I am on a menopause rollercoaster
I’m in my late 40’s and since having my youngest child a few years ago, my periods have always been on the longer side. Recently, with perimenopause kicking in, things have gotten unpredictable. I am on a menopause rollercoaster. Some months it’s skipped, other times it feels never-ending – I am now on day 10 of my latest period. I’m pretty anxious. I have been reading posts to find out about my symptoms, but it is not clear to me how long this all lasts for – is it months or years? Has anyone else dealt with crazy periods like this? My emotions are all over the place and it is impacting my work and family life.
I used to be really regular and so could predict when I might be off and prepare for it. But with such changes in my cycle I just cannot tell how I will be from one day to the next. My kids are unsure how to deal with me and my husband tries to help – but if I don’t know what is going – then how can he!
What would help? More information on what is happening to my body and why I’m feeling this way? Surely by now, we have the answers to something that most women go through?
