Should I dive into the world of HRT

Approaching the big 4-0, and Im wondering if I should I dive into the world of HRT. It feels like I’ve been in the perimenopause ring for a good year or two. It all kicked off with those restless nights – sweaty wake-ups and 2 AM staring contests with the ceiling. Then came the unwelcome guest, weight gain. A year back, the migraines barged in and decided to stay. My neurologist has this theory that they’re hormone-induced. The good news? We’ve got those migraines somewhat tamed thanks to a higher estrogen birth control.
I’ve checked in with my OB-GYN and a menopause-specializing NP, and they’re both throwing shade at my age, saying I’ve got enough estrogen from my birth control and that perimenopause is an overreach. But now, it’s the sleep – or lack thereof – that’s pushing me to my limits. Some nights are decent, especially with a sleep aid, but lately, it’s been a wild rollercoaster. I can’t keep living like this, it’s too unpredictable. So here’s the million-dollar question: should I dive into the world of HRT? And if so, how on earth do I find a specialist who’s not just peddling hormones but takes me seriously?
